Este es el primer tema de la banda francesa en dos años, y formará parte del soundtrack de la próxima película de Sofia Coppola, On the Rocks.
Siempre es una buena noticia un nuevo lanzamiento de Phoenix. Después de dos años de haber editado su sencillo «Monologue», y a tres de su estupendo disco Ti Amo (2017), la banda francesa regresó con su tema «Identical».
La canción será parte del soundtrack de la próxima película de Sofia Coppola, On the Rocks, cuyo estreno está programado para fines de este año. Además, el filme contará con las actuaciones de Bill Murray, Rashida Jones y Marlon Wayans.
No es la primera vez que Phoenix se asocia con Coppola para musicalizar las cintas de la directora. De hecho, esta es la quinta colaboración de la agrupación desde «Too young», que fue incluida en la aclamadísima banda sonora de Lost in Translation (2003).
Así, «Identical» sigue el paso de tan interesante asociación. El track incluye un videoclip que fue dirigido por el hermano de Sofia, Roman Coppola. Igualmente, se propone visualmente como un homenaje a Phillippe Zdar de la banda Cassius, quien falleció el año pasado en un accidente.
