Destacan artistas como Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift y Lady Gaga. Por otro lado, Harry Styles, Rosalía y Dua Lipa se encuentran como los grandes ausentes.
Los VMA’s 2020 de MTV se acercan y hace algunas horas la reconocida casa televisora dio a conocer la lista de nominados para el evento que se llevará a cabo este 30 de agosto.
Las artistas que lideran esta edición son Ariana Grande y Lady Gaga, con nueve nominaciones cada una. Con su single “Rain on me”, se enfrentarán por el Video del Año a «Godzilla» de Eminem con Juice WRLD, «Life Is Good» de Future y Drake, «The Man» de Taylor Swift, «Blinding Lights» de Weeknd y «Everything I Wanted» de Billie Eilish.
Por su parte, Billie Eilish y The Weeknd obtuvieron seis nominaciones, mientras que Taylor Swift tuvo cinco por sus videos «The Man» y «Lover». Mientras que la gran sorpresa fue la ausencia de artistas como Dua Lipa, Rosalía y Harry Styles, al no tener nominaciones directas, aunque su equipo de trabajo sí se vio reconocido.
Cabe destacar que, debido a la situación de pandemia, se premiarán dos nuevas categorías: Mejor video musical desde casa y Mejor actuación de cuarentena. En la segunda se incluye el tributo de Post Malone a Nirvana.
El lugar de la ceremonia se encuentra definido: será en Brooklyn, Estados Unidos. Por otro lado, la presencia de público aún está en evaluación, pues se pretende que sea ante una «audiencia limitada o nula» debido al distanciamiento social por la COVID-19.
